[bay area] 9/9 – 9/15
September 8th, 2009
Oooh… Definitely check out Mollie Stone’s for their one day produce sale on Wednesday if you can make your way out there:
great prices on organic figs (2.48/basket), broccolini ($1.88/bunch), and grapes ($1.48/lb). They also have some new crop organic apples coming in from Washington and CA for $0.99/lb. This is when I wish there were at least one Mollie Stone’s market in the East Bay…
I can’t believe I haven’t been buying more figs. I also can’t believe that I haven’t bought any of those organic heirloom tomatoes at safeway for $1.99/lb. Definitely a killer deal. Better go stock up on those and have my last summer greens/tomatoes before the colder weather sets in.
Safeway:
*****Organic Heirloom Tomatoes @ $1.99/lb
*Post Honey bunches of Oats @ $1.50 (must buy 4 and use coupon in-ad)
Raleys:
*** Cheerios, Fruit by the Foot, Betty Crocker Baking stuff..etc @ $1.50/ea (must buy 10 General Mills items)
**Crest @ $1.50/ea
Short post this week, but if you’re bored, go check out the crazy nytimes article about making beer by using salivary enzymes to convert starches to sugars in corn… mmm. now I’m hungry.
